PIC DE PALOUMERE

Family walk accessible to regular walkers. The walk leads to the superb summit of Paloumère (1608m) which offers an exceptional panorama of the Pyrenees and the Garonne valley.

Access itinerary
From the tourist information office in Arbas, go up towards Labaderque-Herran. At Labaderque, continue towards the top of the hamlet and keep going straight up to the car park (terminus).

From the car park at the Fontaine de l'ours, go up the small forest track, cross the Canadian pass and go up to the "cabane de roquepi / pic de paloumere". You arrive at the steel cattle crossing, continue straight ahead crossing the stream and then by the track that runs alongside the stream. You arrive at the Roquepi hut. At the hut go up on your left. At the saraoute pass go up on the right towards the paloumère peak. You arrive at a small summit with a cairn, go back down following the markers (yellow / red), continue on the ridge. You reach a pass below with an arrow. Continue straight on towards pic de paloumère. In the forest you pass a small entrance to a cave and you arrive at a small rocky passage (be careful). You leave the forest and go down on a small path on the right side of a mamelon. You go down to a pass. Go up on your right (no sign). At the top, reach the summit of the paloumère on the right by crossing the meadow strewn with rocks.
